St. Paul, MN (KROC AM News) - The flu season is waning, but influenza continues to sicken Minnesotans and last week the State Health Department received two more reports of children dying after becoming ill with the flu.

That raised the total number of pediatric flu-related deaths in Minnesota this season to eight.

Overall flu activity remained categorized as “local” last week with nine flu-related hospitalizations, 11 school outbreaks, and just one outbreak reported by a long-term care facility.
